The song was made available for digital download shortly after its radio debut. “Where Did We Go Wrong?” was the second single from the album, released on December 17th.
The song also peaked at 16th on Hot R & B / Hip Hop Airplay. This achievement marked Braxton’s seventh single to lead the music chart since the release of “Just Be a Man About It” in 2001.
The song totaled 41 weeks on Adult R&B Songs before leaving the top 20. On December 14th, the single reached # 1 on Billboard’s music chart, remaining in this position for four weeks. The video clip, in turn, was released on October 11 through a VEVO channel created exclusively for the project. On September 7, the song debuted at 17th on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs. A version of the song was published on the Braxton channel through VEVO on August 19. “Hurt You” was released as a single on August 17, 2013. However, months later, the singer stepped back and announced a future collaboration with Babyface due to the commercial success of the album.
Shortly before the release, Braxton announced that this would be his last studio album because he intends to dedicate himself only to his film career. The album is the first work in Babyface studio in more than seven years and the first release of Braxton from her album Pulse in 2010. The album was originally scheduled for release on 25 of November of 2013, and the launch was delayed by a week to coincide with Valentine’s Day in North America. Love, Marriage & Divorce consists of eleven tracks, including the singles “Hurt You” and “Where Did We Go Wrong”. Produced by Motown Records, the album sold more than 211,000 copies as of June 2014 in the United States. Love, Marriage & Divorce is a collaborative album by American singers Toni Braxton and Babyface, released on February 4, 2014.
